Dr. Myers was born in Ohio, but moved to Florida in 1969 to attend the Florida State University. There he received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in marine biology. He then went on to attend the University of Florida's College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 1984. Shortly thereafter, he moved to the Port Charlotte area, where he has been residing ever since. Although Dr. Myers has in the past taken care of horses, cows, pigs, goats, llamas and other large animals, his practice is now limited to dogs and cats. His past and present memberships include: American Veterinary Medical Association, Florida Veterinary Medical Association, Charlotte Veterinary Medical Association, Caloosa Veterinary Medical Association, Marine Mammal Stranding Network and (past) board member of the Animal Welfare League of Port Charlotte.
